  1. Happy 17 year clanniversary @R.agnarok(OD)! (I know it's super cheesy haha) Thanks for everything you've done, and continue to do for this clan/community. Most importantly thank you for recruiting me back in 2004 even though I lost against you in our 1v1 for my try out on Brood War lol. Also thank you for being a leader to look up to and learn from for all of these years as well as being a great friend. I hope you continue to stay with us for many more to come. -Raged(OD)😁

  4. Greetings @Enlisted @Warrant Officers @Officers @Senior Officers @General @Generals 1* - 3* @Commanders I am putting out the call looking for more members for the Recruitment & Retention Committee. Currently right now we would like more members who have experience or some expertise in either recruitment or retention. What is Recruitment? Recruitment in OD is the act of introducing a person to OD and having them join OD. Recruitment is the life blood of OD and we need this to effectively grow our community. What is Retention? Retention is when we keep a member around for a long period of time, usually this is done through activity like socializing, gaming, and events. With a new interest in recruitment I think is now to get as many perspectives and minds to gather data, tackle problems, and even organize events related to recruitments and retention. If anyone is interested please insert a application through the squads tab on the overdosed website, and please ask any questions you have here. Thank you for stopping by.

  5. I actually remember the day I recruited you and also remember the day I joined. I was hopping to clan after clan looking for a place to stay for good. I remember doing tryouts for a clan where they played money maps and I beat their best players, and they proceeded to call me a "hacker" because they couldn't take a loss and got banned afterwards. I was pretty mad at the time and left me with a bad taste of communities afterwards. A few days later, I remember joining the OD channel and proceeded with the recruitment process, I beat the recruiter and played about 10 games with OD players, but they all were terribly bad, yet not a single soul had a single complaint about losing, they were actually excited to recruit me. That did it for me, I remember saying, ok, this is the clan where I will stay for good. I never really tried to be a leader here. I joined to have fun and game, and I absolutely loved recruiting new members. That got me to climb up ranks and to reach the General ranks, once I was there, I still didn't want to be a leader, I only wanted to help organize stuff, help with the website, and make this community enjoyable as my previous peers did that for me. I remember that the first day that I actually wanted to be a leader was the day I got the Commander rank. This all has been a quite meaningful experience ever since I joined. It gave me the chance to meet a lot of great people here, and enjoy a lot of gaming. Joining OD was the best decision I ever made regarding online stuff. We were very young back then, and having the privilege of seeing us both grow and continue to have people like you who I can talk to and have fun is very gratifying. I'm very glad I recruited you and that you are enjoying this place. I don't even see 17 years as a long time, it's just a part of my life now, a life project where I got no plans on leaving neither letting it die. As long as I'm around, rest assured that OD will still live. I hope that you and everyone reading this can also call this place home and make it part of your lives, enjoy it, and see it live through the years. The older you get, the more you appreciate little details of life, and OD has been one of the most rewarding. You will always have a friend here for anything you need. I thank you truly for the recognition. 😃

  7. Greetings Clan OverDosed, Today, there was a change made to our website's profile page to enforce privacy precautions in today's day in age. Every OD member, current trial members, and former OD member's email accounts on profile have changed to private(Member has not made his email public). Emails are still frequently used to this day but are becoming more on the lines of sensitive information than it is for public acknowledgment as it once was back in 2003. We at Clan OverDosed take security seriously and want to protect our member's personal information from getting into the wrong hands. If you wish to publicize your email, please follow the steps below but, I strongly recommend every member to keep it private. If you wish to unhide your email: Log onto website > Console > Change Profile > Hide your email? (Select No) Changes: Every OD member's email account changed to private. Trial member's emails are now hidden and only viewable by an authorized authority. Special thanks to Commander @R.agnarok(OD) for making the changes. @Commanders, @General, @Generals 1* - 3*, @Senior Officers, @Officers, @Warrant Officers, @Senior Forum Members, @Forum Members, @New Forum Members

  9. Today isn't the one year anniversary of this division, I know that, but the division is indeed one year old. It's crazy for someone like me who has been here since near the very beginning when it was just a squad and a few people playing casually in their spare time. I'd like to take some time to go over the history of this division and celebrate everyone who made it what it is today. January The beginning of everything. The squad is created on January 20th, 2020 JD gets some recruits from OD mostly and Raged gets a couple members from Halo Waypoint, including myself. Most activity was just occasional posts in the chat and getting together on a Friday night to queue some social BTB or whatever. February On February 14th, 2020, the Halo Division is created after a vote is taken. JD(OD) is the Original Division Lead with Raged as a co-lead I complain about there being no events. Some more members come through, like @BL4CKxCH4N(OD) and Coolhand7(OD). To my knowledge BL4CK is the only February recruit still around. March On March 9th, 2020, I'm added as an Events Lead and Division Administrator Events come into formal existence on the same day. One of our first events. At least a highlight. Teacher becomes a mainstay, even if we played it wrong. Halo CE comes out on PC... again. A ton of mainstay members got recruited around this time. @Jenkinns523(OD), @ThatMilkGuy, @Morgandril(OD), ChrisyP(OD), GodlyPrometheus(OD), PixelPaintbrush(OD), etc. It's a long list. April More events! Turnout lower than last month but whatever Project Cartographer is informally folded into the Halo Division Infinity is banned. The beginning of the first exodus of inactive players cause recruiting was crazy in March. The last mod-centered event is held to no fanfare. We pick up members like @SprucePumpkin01and JayKay(OD). Spruce is now a co-lead of the division The OD Halo Competitive Squad is founded. It didn't go too far. It was a good time with the squad though. May The first (and only) raid OD has ever partaken in. It was against the 19th ODST Division. We lost, but they folded approximately a month later. Halo 2: Anniversary comes out for PC, with Morgandril hosting a launch celebration event. The projectile bug is found and no one wants to touch it. The bug is fixed a week later Membership continued to drop but events were still held, including Conquest. This was the most ambitious month for a long time. New long-time members: Birdman6666(OD) and @PureSkoomaOD, the latter of whom returning to OD after almost 3 years. June A quiet month. To date, this is when we had our lowest population. Recruit-a-thon begins. No noteworthy recruits during this time period. July Halo 3 comes out on PC. We finished the fight Highlights from launch night 1 2 3 4 (4 was during the flight but I threw it in anyways) I become the original Division Leader, and JD steps down. Avatarx(OD) becomes a member, along with some others who have since been disabled. Events start back up. August A revival period begins. We get plenty of new blood in while also getting some old members back. Raged(OD) returns around this time to recruit some new members. A lot of new members. New noteworthy members: @Geordie(OD), @Utomneian(OD), and @TDMX(OD) Halo Infinite is revealed with gameplay. It looks fun but shade was thrown at the m o n k e. September A big month for OD New members like Donut, FIip(OD), @phoenix0fEmbers, and Steelshot FIip(OD) brings his montaging skills to the table I hand over control of events to the community. Anyone could create events now. Halo 3: ODST comes out with Firefight over dedicated servers. Halo 3 hit registration patch comes out. Halo 3 sweats are happy. October The event bot comes to OD. It's easily the best addition made to the server. Forge competition wraps up with Geordie(OD) being declared the winner by default (seriously though, awesome map. We should hold an event for it, maybe Infection or FFA?) Spruce and Jenkinns really rise through the ranks at this point, with Spruce becoming an Officer and Jenkinns not too far behind. Raged is back as a co-lead, and begins hosting BTB and FFA events. Customs Evenings start, with Geordie's starting on the 17th and Utomneian's the week following after requests for Sunday events. A lot of new members, including Ased, DTMKillzar, QazCable, sneakynicolas, and @TomV(OD). November Halo 4 comes out for PC and completes the MCC. Morgandril hosts a launch celebration event. Jenkinns is promoted to Officer shortly into the month. Geordie and Utomneian continue hosting MCC Customs events, Raged steps down from hosting BTB and FFA events to support the up and coming WoW division (the other division he co-leads), and Jenkinns steps up to the plate to host BTB events starting on Black Friday. A couple new members, including Zoro461. Continued success with the division December MCC on PC turns one year old. Quite a few of us have an embarrassing amount of hours already put into it. 😜 Jenkinns, Geordie, and Utomneian continue hosting BTB and MCC Customs events, with Jenkinns also hosting during Christmas and New Year's weeks to surprisingly high turnout despite how busy those two weeks are for most folks. A few new members, including cl1pped and TimmyV. The Halo division reaches a double digit number of Warrant Officers for the first time. January Geordie begins posting weekly Halo OD Info Roundups, which contain info such as recent promotions, medals, members currently on the promotion board, upcoming events, and Halo news. Jenkinns experiments with the RTS side of Halo, hosting the first Halo Wars event in the division’s history. The #event-planning channel is introduced for members to publicly communicate event plans. @LightningWolves(OD), PureSkooma, and others begin brainstorming ideas for possible Halo Wars Customs events as well as other MCC events. Geordie becomes an Officer, and Jenkinns becomes both a Senior Officer as well as a co-lead of the Halo division. Many new members, including EclipseNexus, Foxlitaf, @Larixal(OD), LuckyShekel, and Lumpydonut. First use of the poll bot recently implemented by LightningWolves to determine which of Saturday and Sunday folks prefer for MCC Customs events to help with their turnout (Sunday won the vote, and Geordie & Utomneian plan to co-host them going forward). The poll bot will definitely be getting a lot of use within the Halo division, especially on the events side of things. MCC updates for 2021 begin with the release of Season 5, adding new cosmetics to Reach and 3 including the infamous GRD helmet. Still awaiting details on the Publishing Team’s main focus for MCC in 2021: additional mod support/mod tools as well as flighting for the Custom Game Browser. First time getting more than 8 concurrent members at the BTB events. Split into 2 teams of 5 and matched each other several times in BTB matchmaking. It has been a wild ride with everyone here and I wouldn't trade anything in the world for my time here. You guys make OD special, better than the competition. Thank you @Jenkinns523(OD)@Raged(OD)@JD(OD)@Geordie(OD)@SprucePumpkin01 and everyone in this division who made it what it is today. You guys absolutely rock, and I have lots of hope that we will make it to Infinite's launch stronger than ever. Without you, the community, none of this would be possible. We're not just some one-note clan who scrapes for members on Halo's discord server. We're a long-standing community with a history that's worth sharing. Let's keep it that way, and strive to grow more in the next year for Halo Infinite's release. See you all in the new year, Zakspeeeed(OD)

  12. It's crazy to think that one year ago I joined clan OD to have people to run with in D2. When I met @Purplez(OD) and @Sassy I knew I found a home. I want to thank both of you for showing me ropes and teaching me along the way. This was before our SC2 division was resurrected so I had no plans of playing SC much, but within a couple months of being here I met @RedIce(OD) and offered to help as a co lead. We didn't really know each other so I was very grateful he gave me the opportunity. Our division has grown into something I am proud to be apart of and I am so thankful to have a concrete foundation to my new home. I wanna give a huge shout out to several other people for being there for me along the way. @JD_FKA_Xayj(OD) You have been great support and thank you for your guidance. @SuNSeT Thank you for your help in D2 and support in SC2. @Raged(OD) Even though you are not in our SC2 division, its great that you stop in to say hi, show your support, and help our members. @Froggie420(OD) Thank you for everything you do in the D2 community. @Mytho(OD) I miss you bud. When I first joined, until the time your game crashed, we did runs almost everyday. @Stardom(OD) Thank you for your support in our SC2 tournaments. @Smoken(OD) Thanks for all the runs and helping level my characters. @ZBTtarget(OD) You have put so much hard work into the D2 division and for that I thank you. @Yoshi(OD) You have been right hand man in both divisions. Thank you for all the time you put in. @Jumpmansanic(OD) You have been here since the beginning of our SC2 division and contributed in many ways such as, joining every tournament I've hosted, streaming, casting, posting on youtube, practicing with other members, and being an honest and compassionate person. @sals(OD) Thank you for all the time you've spent in discord and with the other people in our division. You're positive attitude has made our discord a great place to chill. @CAPSLOCK(OD) Ever since you have joined, our tournaments have gotten a lot more competitive. The time you spend in game, on discord, on the website, and in the forums does not go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you do. @markohfive(OD) Mark has supported us in almost every tournament we've held since his return. Thank you for supporting our tournaments and being another great person to converse with. @OGsewerat(OD) Saved the best for last. Thank you for your support in the tournaments, in discord, with helping other players achieve their goals, and getting that juicy loot. You were one of the people who motivated me to get to the level of play I am at now. If i forgot to mention you, I am sorry and I hope you don't take it personally. Thanks again to everyone who has helped me and our community along the way. Have a great weekend everyone! Rant over.

  13. Hi All, Figured it was about time I put together a solid, step-by-step, clear walkthrough of the correct usage of the Discord Bot for recruitment. Some need-to-know bits before we begin. No doubt these are old news to some around here, but it never hurts to start simple. Always use the approved invites to the Discord Server - you shouldn't be creating your own, and shouldn't be inviting anyone to anywhere except the rules channel. It is likely set up so it is physically impossible to not do this, but it is always safest to check - both invite methods (and the current up-to-date invite link) are fully visible in the rules channel. Always make sure the person you are inviting in through this process wants to be a full OD member. Some people just want to be a guest - and that's cool. We have plenty of members who began their tenure here as guests - and we welcome anyone, regardless of their status. Always make sure you are available for help should they need it. Don't start this process unless you're gonna be available through it. Fastest way to lose someone is for them to find something they don't quite follow, only for their guide to be AFK. So now that we have the groundwork, let's begin! Once you have talked things through with your prospective member, invited them in and they are happy with the rules of our community, you can go ahead and get them started. Begin by locating them in the discord, right clicking them, highlighting "Roles" and locating the "Recruit" role. You can see below I am about to apply this role to myself. (I have no idea why this one image came out so grainy...) When you do, the potential recruit will receive a message from our friendly neighborhood Overdosed Bot asking if they wish to continue the recruitment process. They can Thumbs Up to continue. (Sorry Type, you weren't online otherwise you'd be immortalised forever in these shots) They are then asked to enter their name... ...with a friendly prompt should they forget the all important (OD) tag required! Once they're happy, they can confirm with another thumbs up. If the name is taken, unfortunately they're just going to need to pick another. No clones allowed! Make sure to ask them what their name will be, to ensure there is no risk of mistaken identity with another user - O instead of 0, that sort of thing. Not that it would be malicious, more likely coincidence - but lets try to avoid it if it is likely to cause issue. They will then be asked to provide an email to link.... be sure it is valid! The system will auto-detect and feedback if it sees any problems, and then accept... ...followed by selecting a Division they wish to be a part of. Clearly, the right answer is Halo. They will then be shown a summary screen, which is the last opportunity for any changes that wouldn't require admin support, so get them to double-check! Really important to note (and ask) at this point is to make sure the recruiter information is correct. We don't want your hard work going to waste by it accidentally logging someone else! It should auto-detect who gave them the "Recruit" status, but it is worth being sure. Once they have Thumbs Up'd that message, at this point they will receive a password, be sure to get them to note it down - do not let them copy/paste! Some browsers have difficulty with copy/pasting into password fields, and it is easier to just avoid the issue. ...and once logged in, that's it! The responsibility now shifts to you. This is your new, fresh-faced, innocent member... alright, who am I kidding. This is probably someone who you spent the last 20 minutes blasting your enemies to dust with. Either way, you need to make them feel welcome. Some good tips for member management: Make sure to introduce them to your division - and / or the community. Always good to get some games in quickly. We should really get a sign on the Community door. Personally I vote for "Beware of the Leopard". Show them how to mute channels in the Rules channel. Our Discord is large, and can easily become overwhelming. Help them out! An overwhelmed member is likely to leave. Be sure to check in with them, ideally within their first couple of days. You want to be sure they have a constant contact if they run into any issues. Most Divisions will have plenty of members online and ready to keep games going, but make sure you point them in the direction of the events tab so they know what's coming up. Don't forget about promotions! Recruits are likely not wanting to know about this Day 0, but let them know after a few days about how they are progressing. Give them a nudge the first time their rank comes up, and explain how it all works. Get them involved when a member comes up for promotion from your division - make sure they know their voice is valued. Do not let them into the Politics Channel Above all, have fun. This shouldn't seem like a chore. The day Recruiting becomes tedious is the day you should take a step back. This is designed to make it as easy as possible - so enjoy it and enjoy the growth you are a part of. >end overly sickening community spirit message. Peace, Geordie.

  14. Promotions aren't participation trophies, especially on tier change promotions. You have to earn the rank, and by default those who already have the rank have more weight in evaluating the members going up for that rank. These are especially important for tier change promotions between Warrant Officer and Officer, Officer and Senior Officer, and Officer to General. If we made it so that you could only -1 then you also have to remove the ability to do anything more than +1, that'd be just lopsided and nobody would ever fail, because you've taken away the system to prevent a promotion that shouldn't be happening according to the person's opinion at the time of voting. Something people should understand as well when it comes to neg voting; It's not that someone dislikes the person, or people are ganging up on a particular individual. It's intended to be a vessel to provide feedback reflective of the opinion and evidence behind the vote. You use negative votes to decide where you need improvements, and you use positive votes to determine what you're doing well. It's not personal when someone neg votes another. It's merely an evaluation of the current rank and potential future rank the member is going to. The fact that the knee jerk reaction of feeling it's personal with the neg votes is the problem in my opinion, not that people are neg voting or how much people are neg voting. Take Skooma's promotion for instance. People rallied around him and vehemently disagreed with those who negged him, to the point that we have yet another of these discussions here on the forums. It's not personal against Skooma that he was negged. The members who voted the way they did just felt he wasn't ready yet, and that's exactly what the promotion system is used for coupled with evidence and recollection of past interactions of the member up for a promotion. Also, as a side note, I've -20'd someone before and they still passed with ~20 votes above and beyond their required vote amounts. So a -20 on a single drop isn't the end of the world. Even with Skooma, there were multiple people totaling up to maybe 30 ish votes in the red.. but he still had enough to overcome it. The problem isn't with the amount being negged, it's just that people are taking it too personal. Just my 2 cents.

  15. Hello everyone! It's with pleasure that I announce a new form of OD Radio coming back to the clan. To my knowledge, the idea has been around for awhile going on and off, with talks recently to get it going again not quite materializing. So, @Morgandril(OD)and I have decided to revive the idea ourselves and it has been done! We recorded an episode today, and while we may be amateur we think that you guys will enjoy our first episode. If it's bad, then we will only strive to get better. The link to the recording will be up soon, hopefully by the end of the day. It will include a gaming fact of the day, news relating to OD, and an interview with one of our own, @Geordie(OD). If you'd like to see a certain interviewee, please let us know so we can continue to do this. Our goal is to unite the wider OD community more and get people informed about each other, so if you want to be a part of that recommendations are the primary way of doing that. You can even suggest yourself. We will try to do this every other weekend, maybe even ramp it up to every weekend. More news on that front will come soon. We hope you enjoy this episode, and have a great rest of your day, Zakspeeeed(OD) and Morgandril(OD). EDIT: Listen to our first podcast here! https://anchor.fm/od-radio/episodes/OD-radio-EP-1-GeordieOD-eqr7bl

  17. She was my best friend in OD, my partner in crime lol.. We were 2 sides of the Diablo 2 coin. Sassy was like a magnet, people were just drawn to her. She is responsible for bringing hundreds, yes, hundreds of new members into the clan. The remarkable thing about this accomplishment, is that she new the names of all these folks. Knew peoples lives....she brought joy to us all. Heh, she also sometimes showed that Brittish temper of hers....In fact, I was probably the only one who could tell her to slow down, take a breath lol. Throughout our years of working together, our friendship transcended Overdosed. we shared bits of our lives together. She knew my morning routine of coffee and a smoke on my porch. She would share short snaps of her little legs walking to work, all the while rambling on about whatever. I'll miss these times, she always stopped by the swans and showed me pics of them as they swam up to her. 2020 was a tough year for most of us but julie suffered so much loss. The loss of her daughter Lauren weighed heavily on her soul. Her beloved bulldogs and even her father. She shared her grief with me and i tried to comfort her best i could. The news of her passing has left me with such a profound sense of sadness and loss. I miss my friend. She family to me, a sister. I know in the end, it was so much for julie, everything piled up, and finally, she let go. I am however comforted with the knowledge that she is suffering no more. She will always be a part of me, and everyone she touched...I'll never forget her...Thank you juliekins, for being a part of my life....... She came into this world crying, as those around her were smiling, She lived her life so, as she left the world smiling, those around her were crying. Thank you Pel for the chance to say good-bye to your mum...i have enjoyed our talks and hope to count you among one of my new friends. And Tony...you both are in my thoughts and prayers,,,julie was family..so i guess that makes you family as well Good-bye Juliekins, my dearest friend. The world is a lesser place without your light in it..... Forever in my heart, James ..PoPs(OD)

  18. Thought I would come on here and share something that I am excited about since I don't really get to talk about it nearly as much as I would like. Some of you may know this but my wife and I bought a new construction about a year and a half ago. It came with a partially finished basement. There is a room that was studded out to be a bathroom. It's bear to the studs but you cannot see into it from the outside because the outside wall has drywall and there is also a door. For the better part of a year, nobody ever went in there. The only thing that was in there was a 1 piece fiberglass tub that was just sitting on the floor. We had that put in before the walls were assembled because it's impossible to fit in a room like that after the fact without tearing walls down. This is what it looked like. With the ever increasing likelihood that my wife would be working from home the rest of the year (from the basement) I thought it would be cool to finish the bathroom as a Christmas gift. But... If that were not a big enough task in itself, I would do it secretly. You see, my wife goes to bed a few hours before me each night. Further, I have recruited friends to help me with the project as well as help get her out of the house to do loud and difficult things without drawing attention. The first step was lifting the tub to install the drain for the shower. How do I do this? I cannot rotate it. I cannot lift it, there is not enough room to just craw under it. I cant really slide it? Solution: Move the tub to the ceiling! Next I cut concrete and moved the drain where I needed it! I was able to do this while Lindsey had to go to work one day and I had the day off. I also had to figure out plumbing. I had to make drawings to figure out how it would logistically fit where I needed it to. Lot's of research for something so seemingly simple. It's easy for people who do it everyday but I was confused at first. I could not drop the tub without help. So I worked on getting water lines brought into the room. I was able to do this quietly at night! Also, had never did this before. Youtube was my friend. I was also able to sneak to a friends house to help me solder a piece for the control valve for the shower. I had never done it before but it was a cool thing to learn. I then put the control valve pieces together. Next was dropping the tub. This involved getting my friend to invite my wife out for a crafts activity. EVERYTHING went wrong for them (planned) so I had a full day to do this. But before that, I had to get everything out of the room. It was packed full of stuff. So many things! I also had a friend join me to drop the tub. It was not easy. After that, a friend came over for a board game night. We knew Lindsey would go to bed early which lead to the real reason they came over. To help me run electrical. We ran the switches to the light fixture and for the vent fan. I forgot to take pictures of this. Was not that exciting. I also had started picking out a bunch of stuff for the bathroom. Tile, light fixtures, paint, vent fan stuff like that. Keep in mind, there are two things that I cannot stress enough. 1.) I have no idea what I am fucking doing. Everything I do involves a bunch of youtube and consultation from people to figure stuff out. 2.) Lindsey still has no idea! It's a lot of work keeping all of this secret! Okay, the most recent thing has been installing drywall with the help of a friend. Once again, someone got Lindsey out of the house and basically held her captive for 8 hours for us to get the drywall installed. Over the next couple days, a friend was sneaking into the house around 10PM after Lindsey went to bed and helping put on coats of mud and leaving around 1am. Today, I just finished sanding the mud, it was unbelievably messy! It was during the installation of the drywall that Lindsey started to get a little suspicious. She said she thought she knows what I am getting her for christmas. She had noticed that I had left a couple tools out! Dangit! Anyhow, she told me that she thought I was making a blanket ladder for her. For those that don't know, it's basically a small decorative ladder you have in your house to hold and organize blankets. HA! This was perfect! Guess why? I told her that she was right and the only reason I wanted to come clean was that I am about to paint it. When I paint it, she will be able to smell it and the gig will be up so she might as well tell me what color she wants. Genius right? Now, I can paint the bathroom and draw no suspicion. I am having my parents buy her a blanket ladder for christmas :). In the next week, I need to prime the room (tomorrow), lay the flooring (start tomorrow), paint (Sunday/Monday), install the toilet and sink (Tuesday), install the light fixture, fan vent, towel bar and those small things (Wednesday). Catch up on anything I don't finish on Thursday in time to show the room off for a Christmas surprise! I will still have to go back and finish trim work but there is no way for me to get that in before Christmas. Also, the mirror wont get in until mid January. Anyhow, this is just something I am really excited about. I could go into further detail about the lengths I have gone to cover my trail like disabling wifi so cameras cannot be used, disabling our ring doorbell at specific times to let people in and out of the house, playing movies on the main floor so she cant hear me in the basement. I could also go into much further detail with all the nuisances of things that really screwed me up and slowed me down but this post is already probably long enough. Anyhow, thank you for taking the time to share in my story! 12/20/20 Edit: Was almost able to finish 2 coats of primer today but I ran out of primer about 80% of the way through the 2nd coat. I will have to find an excuse to run out and grab some more tomorrow morning and hopefully get it up with plenty of time to dry so I can get the first coat of paint up tonight. 12/21 edit: Got more primer to put on a second coat. Bought trim. Painted everything. Installed light, vent and vent light. Started getting ready to lay flooring. 12/22 edit: I think I finished the flooring. I’m worried I may of screwed up, it just doesn’t seem right. I found out my vanity won’t work. I did not think it out. It doesn’t have floor access for the drain and has a bottom drawer. This is a critical mistake and I’m not sure if I can fix this before Christmas. I’m very upset and am going to bed sweaty and stressed. If I fall asleep now I’ll get 4 hours of sleep. Sadly, that won’t happen. 12/23 Edit: Today was likely the most frustrating day of the build. Lack of sleep and complications have really tested my limits. I found a way to make the vanity work by cutting a hole in the shelf and modifying the drawer (not 100% sure on the plan of action yet but I accepted that it will be something I can and will work around - probably shorten the drawer). For installation, I took it out. I connected the water supply, dropped the counter/sink and got everything hooked up, including the faucet. Only thing missing is the drain connection. It was like a puzzle I could not figure out. I am hoping some sleep will bring clarity. I moved on to the toilet. This was very very very difficult. The elbow that supports the drain was actually sitting proud of the concrete which is bad for a variety of reasons. It made cutting the drain to the floor much harder but it also meant I had to modify my toilet flange as well because it would not fit otherwise. They really screwed me on this part of my house. Anyhow, all I ended up getting done here is screwing the toilet flange to the floor and seeing what the toilet looks sitting on top. On the bright side, I did go shopping today and got a shower rod, shower liner, shower curtain, towels, hand towels, rugs, trash bin, and soap dispenser. That should really bring the room together and make it pop. I could not find 3 gang light switches with the right finish. That was a bummer, I might have to order them. Also, my mirror wont be here till late January. I still have to connect the sink drain, attach the toilet to the floor and set it all up, do all trim work including baseboard, quarter round and door trim. I also have to thoroughly clean the shower from all the mud and paint. I then have to caulk everywhere around the shower and all over the trim work and do touch up paint. I also have to attach the towel rack, hand towel holder, toilet paper holder. I have to install faceplates for the outlet and the switches. I also have to install a carpet to vinyl transition strip in the doorway. I also have to modify the drawer on the vanity so it can close. I also need to install a door stop. If you're wondering why I am now going into such detail, half of this is for my own benefit because I cannot keep track of everything anymore. 12/25 edit i didn’t post yesterday cause I was up till 4am and running on fumes. It’s going on 4 again this night but at least I got some sleep under my belt. so let’s start with yesterday. I got the plumbing set up for the sink. I modified the rear of the drawer by moving it forward 3 inches so the drawer could shut with the drain behind it. I set the toilet but found I had the wrong water supply line. My friend came over and installed a towel rack, hand towel hold and tp holder. He also swapped out the face plates for the switches. Found out I bought the wrong faceplate for the plug. I also started installing trim. Today I woke up and ran to the hardware store to get the right water supply line, the right faceplate for the plug, a masonry bit and curtain rings. Then later that night I installed the baseboard and casing for the door. I installed water line for the toilet. I hung up the curtain. My buddy came over again and he moved the tp holder to a better spot and he cleaned the tub. We also caulked the shower and trim. We also gave the room a good cleaning and threw all my towels, soap dish, rugs and stuff in the room. Please enjoy the pictures. I’ll update one last time to share my wife’s reaction to the event.

  21. Hey folks ,most of you know me I live a pretty upbeat lifestyle and go out my way to see you all laugh. Sadly I've been hiding a darkness inside for months now and its really starting to take its toll and I've decided that I have to make a choice to live or die. Some of you know about my battle with depression and others probably not but lately I've fallen into a risky habit of habitually using cocaine like to the point I can't remember when I started or when I ended. This cannot continue physically my body is in a bad place and mentally I know what I'm doing is no way to live so I've got a long fight ahead of me but we already beat booze how hard can a little blow be I do however wanna apologize to clan as a whole for vaguely fulfilling what needs to be done Also I might be a little on edge for a few weeks but I will defeat this demon

  22. Hello, during the years I was away from OD I spent time being a dungeon master (certainly not the greatest), and I offered up the idea of getting some of OD's regular's into a game before I start working on making a D&D division. So please don't let being new discourage you from playing if anyone want to play please let me know here. My current days are monday-friday 7:00pm-11pm central, bi weekly saturday 7:30pm central- till we feel tired, and sundays are taken for me by another group. I will be working on a couple of campaign settings while the party is gathered, and I hope the dice favors you all. You do not have to leave your main game to join in this party. Thank you for stopping by, hope to hear back from anyone interested either through posts here, pms, discord, or squad applications.

  23. Per the recommendation of SuNSeT(OD), we have taken the opportunity to begin casting some matches with the ultimate goal of posting on youtube so anyone who comes into the forum can watch these matches. We will post them as they become available. We may consider a superthread of just videos if it becomes burdensome. Special thanks to our caster TypeReal(OD) who put his time and effort into this and posted the video onto his personal youtube page. These are steps moving forward, so we expect changes to come as time continues, so there may be little bumps here and there.

  26. Like JD stated, the logs aren’t perfect, so the best thing we can do is rely on memory. Over the past ten years, I’ve seen more fail then pass that have had negative votes. Usually someone is put up with a +1 from an enlisted that’s voting on imperfect information. The neg votes come in and the promotion is removed from the waiting list via a request. That happens the majority of the time. The other two options are: member passes promotions with negative votes and member fails promotions with negative votes. I would agree that option one occurs more often then option two. The main factor is if the promotion is a tier rank change. The majority of the time, if the member has something glaring that they need to work on, they will most of the time not pass the tier change because people are throwing their full weight behind the negative vote. On non-changing, the neg votes don’t have as much bite and are a reminder of the things that they have to work on. In the end, we all want the same goal. To provide the best community for our members. To do that, we must continuously improve. To help each other improve, we have to get honest feedback. Having a worship session on someone’s promotion, when they need to work on something is not going to help them. We help each other by giving the honest feedback and supporting each other to get better.

  30. Good Morning Team, We are inactivating the Rules Committee at this time. We are placing it on the OD shelf until a time where it is needed. With the effectiveness of the forums, community meetings, and administration a need to have a neutral arbitration committee is less than the cost of slowing down the progress. We will re-evaluate the need in the future. Thank you for the time and work you have given to the committee.

Apologies for the 24 hour delay on this one - my partner had an isolation notice due to an idiot at her work, and then we had a snowfall that took out our landline connection! Quick recap - this is the weekly roundup of promotions, changes and news within Halo OD - Last week's release can be found here for your reading pleasure. Bit of a bigger update this week - and some advance notice of OD's meetings. So, getting started quicker than an Unggoy to the food line... ***Halo News*** The latest and greatest. For reference, a full breakdown of available medals can be viewed here. If you're wondering why this list is noticeably longer, I've chosen to expand to all who are awarded medals, not just Halo members. 33. Great idea lilG. Have been thinking of this for a little while now. In an effort to help recruit new members I would like to help make it a little easier to get people onboard with OD. I will personally donate a "Signing Bonus" to each new recruit of 20 fg. Feel free to use this as an extra incentive to attract new talent.

  34. Hi all, and welcome to what is hopefully the first of many Halo OD updates! First off - what is this, I hear you ask? As I was ticking past 100 days with you all, I started to notice some of the avenues for improvement. Some of those, you'd be better off giving to a toddler (I still don't know how to program a Discord Bot!), but one thing I can do is organise, manage, schedule and above all, write! So reaching out to the leading faces of our division, I asked to put together an info release, something to keep us all informed of the goings-on amongst our growing Spartan numbers. I'm going to be dropping these infodumps on a Monday, with the aim of you hearing the sultry sound of my voice once a week. (No, I'm not going to sing to you, unless you ask very, very nicely). What is here? These posts will work to give you the core weekly info on changes within Halo OD in one place. We might not admit we need it, but it keeps you from rooting around for info. Event Plans. Halo: Infinite's release date has been pushed back to Autumn 2021. Unfortunate, but it means they get to deliver a kick-ass game in what are most definitely unprecedented times. In case you really have been on the moon for the past month, or need a refresher, hit the below: INSIDE INFINITE – DECEMBER 2020 It's also the beginning of a sad countdown - we have less than a year before Xbox 360 service and support is going permanently offline in December 2021. Whilst I imagine all of us have migrated to MCC, it will still leave a bitter taste as the 360 is where most of us found our place in Halo. 343 are looking to do a royal send off, and I will make sure that OD contributes in our own way. Check out the below for the timeline and countdown plans. SUNSETTING HALO XBOX 360 GAME SERVICES IN 2021 ****** That just about rounds us up for the first release. All I ask is that you drop some feedback to let me know of any extra sections you want me to include and any way this can be updated to further help you! If you want to give a shout out to a fellow member, are proud of a Halo achievement you gained, or just want to show off a screenshot or video, hit me up! See you starside, Geordie

  37. Hello, It's been a hot minute (September I think) since I've spoken to you guys in this format. It's been awhile, and I wanted to take some time to really lay down the plans for the future and look at where we are as a Division and what the plan is going forward for 2021. This post will be divided up into two main sections: the present and the future. They're pretty self explanatory so I won't get too much into it. Also, before we begin I'd like to say how proud of everyone I am for basically taking over this division while I focused on school a ton. You guys are the sole reason this division is running today, as some of you have taken to the plate to host your own events, recruit new people, talk with other clans, form relationships with one another. We are a true community now, and it's awesome to see how we've progressed since late January of this year. Soon, we will be coming up on the Division's one-year anniversary, and during this month for a moment we were as big as the Diablo II division which has been around forever. Granted, we're nowhere near that division's peak of all time, but still we have proven ourselves to be a mainstay of this wider community. The Present As of now, we are at 53 total members active at this point in time, with 2 trial members. We have 9 Warrant Officers, 2 Officers, and a Senior Officer. You can also count Raged and JD as our Generals but they are active in many parts of the community, not just Halo, and are more appropriately labelled as general OD members. However, do not be mistaken, they are both committed to this division in some way. This is the most amount of members this division has ever had. We've had this many around March or April when Halo 2 was about to be released onto PC (again), but we quickly experiences a major cascade of members. However, slowly but surely we have built back up that player base thanks to a consistent series of events, gaining more long-term members, and building relationships with other clans such as The Metal Uprising Reforged and recently UNSC Leviathan. This is great news for us as it allows us to pull from more members of the wider Halo community to play games with. We've even been able to recruit some people off of events. A large part of the reason the clan has grown is due to the format of events and the members who set them up, as well as the glorious events bot we have set up for the channel. Originally, events were announced in monthly posts and people were given reminders leading up to the event. These monthly posts were written solely by me, and for awhile this set up was fine. We even had some people step up to organize their own events like Morgandril with the launch party of Halo 2 and SprucePumpkin also hosted some events. But all of that changed when I went back to school. All of a sudden, I didn't have time to write these posts, and frankly I was losing motivation to write these posts. So, with the division mostly consisting of long-term members, I gave you guys the reins and thus let people set up their own events. Let's just say having an automated system to schedule events is an absolute godsend to get the word out. We also got Raged back during this exact time period, and he kickstarted mass recruiting efforts with Spruce and I. They've slowed down from him specifically but we still get a steady trickle of recruits in. I would love to find a way to make this system more automated but it's likely not possible without some serious work put into this project, so for now you will have to post on boards manually. Finally, the rise of community events kept some players pretty busy and formed more long-term members out of it. The D&D Division and the Among Us squad were the two efforts I noticed most prominently, as well as the monthly Community Events returning as well. This all resulted in a perfect storm of getting members, keeping them, and encouraging them to participate in the community and as a result a lot of division in OD, including our own, have benefitted massively. For Halo specifically, I could step away for a month and we'd be likely to not lose too many members, that's how strong our division is at this moment. Doesn't mean I will, it's just an example, but there is great momentum on our side going into 2021. Oh, and the MCC has been completed on PC, with crossplay, so there's that. We can pull in some Xbox folks now too! The Future So, we're in a good position. What's next? The primary goal is to survive until Halo Infinite comes out, which will surely bring in loads of new players for a few reasons: It's a new Halo game It's gonna be crossplay with Xbox One, Series X, and PC It's gonna be on both Game Pass (likely) and the multiplayer will be free to play That last one could be contentious on release day, because it opens the game up to cheaters, but the amount of regular players that the game brings in will be very advantageous for us. But for now, we can't do anything about it other than bide our time and hope to god it's a smash hit with the public and truly serves as the platform for Halo for the next 10 years like CSGO, DOTA2, Destiny 2 (likely), R6 Siege, etc. That's a big goal to live up to for Halo Infinite, but considering the popularity of the game in the past and the popularity of this game now (MCC consistently gets like 30k-40k at anytime across all platforms, which is impressive considering these games are years old and there's no bot population), it's safe to say that there will be a decently-sized playerbase behind this game. I estimate 6 months after launch we get 80k-100k players at anytime. MCC on the other hand is guaranteed to get support in 2021. Unfortunately these new updates will not provide spikes of players like the game releases have. Fortunately, however, they will prolong the game's lifespan. Here's a few of those features: Mod support: We do not know what this will look like, but it's possible this could open up incredible Forge possibilities if this game allows players to import .max files into any of the Halo game engines, or even this game having its own level editor you can make geometry in (highly unlikely. Likely only able to place game objects with MCC level editor). Halo CE and Halo 2 Vista have set the precedent for what mod support will look like, and it's safe to say custom campaigns and multiplayer maps are coming to the game. New content is good, no matter official or community-created. Customs browser: An easier way for us to host events, and to join others lobbies. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like this will support dedicated servers, and will be P2P, but this feature specifically is coming soon so I hope mod support will be integrated well with this feature. New seasonal content and Forge objects: This was mentioned in the December 2020 Dev Blog and this is great news to give us more accessible opportunities to create minigames for our events. Who knows, I might just host a minigame competition ;). Put your thoughts on that in the Discord lobby-chat. Going forward, we should focus on reaching out to other clans for game nights. NO RAIDS. If a mil-sim group only wants to raid, then I want nothing to do with them right now. This isn't the kind of community that needs to be fostered here unless the division want a specific raid-squad that would engage these groups. The ultimate goal is to have fun, but raids are usually not the way to do it. Almost anything else is fair game, whether it be matchmaking or custom games of any other kind. A place to start making connections is the official Halo discord, as it has a dedicated clan chat. It's fairly inactive sometimes though so if there are better places to be then go to those. Halo HQ (formerly The Ark) probably has something similar too. Also, we don't have to specifically stick with clans either. We should also reach out to other niches in the community such as Forgers, competitive, Machinima, etc. If you have a friend in a different Halo niche then go reach out to them and interact with that niche. We need more players with varying sets of skills. This is a dangerous game to play though, as if we are careful we could end up creating a divide between each other, but I think if we make sure to be inclusive of everyone we can pull it off. So, keep hosting events, keep forming alliances (there's an OD medal for it too, the United Nations medal), and keep being kind to one another. The Halo community is one that needs more of that right now considering how divided the wider community is in liking the games. Keep that DSL low and I'll see you all in the Discord, Zakspeeeed(OD)

  39. Hello everyone, some of you may remember me from a long time ago from my prominent OD days. To elaborate for everyone I used to run the Heroes of the Storm Division as its leader, and I ran the regular community meetings monthly for all ranks (especially enlisted) to partake in. Due to alot of stress from the extreme political infighting, burn out, and personal mental health issues, I could not handle any more during my eval period, and I had to leave for my own sake. Now that I am back I seen that OD has changed for the better that I wished it could of done so long ago, but I guess its better late than never. I do hope that I can bring alot of good to OD and I do plan to start a new division while helping others grow, and start hosting community meetings again. As a warning expect me to stop by and say hi every once in a while and offer help, chat, or even game. So please ask any questions to me here, I love to answer some. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day in OD gaming.

  41. Hello Diablo 2 Members! I've come to provide an explanation and detailed summary of the events that transpired that led to the disablement of MikeU1 and the subsequent appeal to be re-enabled. Original Accusation: There were reports that MikeU1 was botting because he was playing Starcraft 2 and cbaal games in Diablo 2 at the same time. In the process, there were some who attempted to contact MikeU1 but never received a response. After a few days of no response, and running daily in cbaal games, it was concluded that he was botting in Diablo 2 while he played Starcraft 2. Further evidence was provided that MikeU1 was actively playing in Starcraft 2. Original Judgement: After receiving the accusation, PoPs reviewed the evidence before him and ultimately concluded on all of D2 administration, that the evidence did indeed point towards the fact that MikeU1 was botting. Due to other issues in Starcraft 2, the disablement for botting was also backed up by overall BM in Starcraft 2. Appeal to PoPs: PoPs received an appeal to the disablement from MikeU1 stating that he was never botting. MikeU1 submitted footage recorded from his phone behind him while he played Diablo 2 and Starcraft 2 to depict playing both games at the same time. It was at this time that PoPs came to me to take a look at the evidence to see what I thought. PoPs brought me up to speed on what led to his initial disablement and we both agreed that since we couldn't directly see his screens (they were very blurry) and that they were so far away, we couldn't determine one way or another that he was playing both characters. Mike also stated that the reason he couldn't respond to people in D2 was because it's very hard to read the screen his Diablo 2 is running on. Based on what we could see in the video provided, we could see that was a possibility. He backed this up further, with the other possible reason for not responding to those who poked him in D2, was because he was focused on his game play in Starcraft 2 during his 4v4 matches. We ultimately decided that the disablement would stand at this time. Appeal to Aerineth: Firstly, I want to make sure that this is very clear. Anytime there's an issue, appeals are a legitimate avenue to pursue if you feel you've been wronged. You can continue the process until it reaches a Commander. At which time if the Commander upholds the ban/disablement, it stands end of story. Appeals are always taken to those of equal rank or higher rank of the one who disabled the petitioner of the appeal. Mike then came to me to appeal the ban. He said he didn't think his side was being heard clear enough and formally requested I take a look at all the evidence. He reshared the recording with me and I re-watched all 3 videos presented to me. I spoke with a people of the community to get different sides of what was actually going on. I spoke with some in D2 and some in SC2 alike. These individuals are all anonymous and will never be revealed publicly, so do not ask for any of them as they won't be given. I then returned to Mike and requested a new video recording of him playing Diablo 2 and Starcraft 2 at the same time. I specifically requested that they be through OBS so that I can see the screens clearly to see what was going on in the game to bolster what information I had gathered, whether through talking to people in the community or through the previous videos submitted to PoPs then to me. I received this video shortly after I requested them and I sat down and watched them all again. There is roughly 2.5 hours of video to review. I also provided this video to PoPs to also evaluate to hear his opinion as he was the original person to disable him for botting. We both concluded in unison that with all the evidence provided that it was more than plausible that he is in fact capable of playing both games at the same time. This in turn led to the original accusation of him botting having not enough evidence to support botting. Possible, but not proven. This leaves us with only one option, and that was to make it right, until at which point it is proven without a doubt that botting is involved. Outcome of the Appeal: Due to the original accusation no longer holding as much water as initially thought, there was only one course of action. Reverse the disablement. Due to the instances of BM in Starcraft 2, whether intentional or not, they still happened. And as punishment, there is a 1 rank demotion for that. MikeU1 has agreed to this being publicly posted and has agreed to working to become a better person. He understands that he gets heated and can become over passionate, to the point of becoming rude with others. He acknowledged this, and under the stipulation to improve his attitude, I have agreed to re-enable him based on both of these statements. Final Overview and Comments from myself: We in administration take the accusations of botting, cheating, BM, and any form of harassment VERY seriously. And it's what led to the swift disablement of MikeU1. However, we will not punish someone unless there is enough proof. Unfortunately, this was one of those cases where more information was needed before the disablement, but I can't stress how hard it is to make that kind of decision on the drop of a hat. At the time we decided that the evidence of botting, a capital punishment in ODD2, was sufficient and took swift action. But, we will not punish the innocent. And that is the reason for overturning the disablement for botting. The disablement came coupled with the reason of BM in Starcraft 2. This is not always a capital offence, so I only saw fit to induce a 1 rank demotion. BM is not tolerated by anyone and will be dealt with as best fits the situation. If anyone has any questions or comments, please either post here or send me a PM here on the Forums and I'll be happy to talk about these actions taken. I have full confidence in the abilities of all of our Generals and Commanders equally so if any of them can answer any questions, please ask them too, if you're more comfortable discussing it with them.

  42. Yes. And if you read Aerineth's post you'd see just how much work he put into making sure he was right. All the people he talked to, all the admins he consulted, and all the information he went to painstaking trouble to collect, before making his decision alongside D2 Division leaders and then even taking time out to recount all of it in a public post so everyone can understand what happened. Rather than being bitter about him making a decision we don't like, maybe we should appreciate the fact that we have someone who will sink so much of his own time and energy into trying to do right by the Clan. I guarantee you'll be grateful for it if there ever comes a day when *you* are wrongfully accused of something. It's a lot of effort to determine someone's innocence. If the rest of us put half that much effort in before deciding someone's guilt, maybe we'd come to understand a little better how easily we can be wrong.

  44. You're insinuating that because we have the ability to neg vote someone with so many votes, that we do so maliciously, which is entirely false. JD"s vote for instance where he dropped the -15 on Skooma was adequately backed up with why he felt the way he did. And it's our job as administration to not put someone into a position they may not be ready for yet. Just like prior, it's also our responsibility to be aware of the actions and abilities of the Officers, especially as they're coming up through the ranks. It is our overreaching job to ensure the continuity of the community, and that includes ensuring we are promoting capable, strong, and reliable leaders. We see those who are coming up and are more than willing to throw a few votes towards that person's promotion. Just because people aren't in your division, doesn't mean you can't get votes from outside, especially from the Generals. It's the entire reason we allow for Cross Division Promotions and Voting. Maybe not, but it's still what's going on to at least some degree. Ignoring this fact doesn't just make it go away, and ignoring it doesn't benefit the argument that there's something wrong with the promotion system. There are plenty of members of the community who have 5 or more vote power, it isn't just the Generals.Everyone at or above the Rank of Captain can vote 5 points. And as I said originally they're given that much power in the system because they're deemed fit to judge those going for a similar rank to the member. While not entirely the same thing, an employee at a company doesn't have the same ability, power, or responsibility as the owner or managers. We are overall elected officials, by you, the members of this community. And for the Generals in particular, we are periodically called for an evaluation to effectively judge the contributions to ensure they're still representing the community as they need to be doing. If they're not representing the community appropriately, they're destined to be removed from power, and it's really that simple. I sense a severe distrust in administration with your tone that you're using. We're not here to act maliciously, and we're not here to make people suffer. Those that want to game can do just that, but as you go through the ranks and start to have responsibilities, then people will be held to those expectations. At our core, we're just like every one of you; Gamers at heart. We're here because we enjoy gaming just as much as you all do with your friends. Much of what we do here is voluntary, we're not paid, and some days are better than others. But we do this because we believe that providing this place for everyone to gather and have fun is sustained. That unfortunately means that sometimes we have to make decisions that makes us unpopular. Whether that's in the form of punishments, negging on promotions, side with someone other than majority. But someone has to do it, otherwise, it would be pure chaos.

  45. If all it took to get people to accept criticism was changing the font and color of text then the world would be a much more peaceful and unified place. People aren't generally that understanding, though. More often people will take things personally regardless. You can try and change the mentality towards neg voting, and in the case of a few people you may even succeed, but no amount of effort will ever prevent a lot of people and their friends from taking it personally anyway. It's not an issue with the mentality within the Clan, it's an issue with the mentality within the human race. In general people just aren't that open-minded. It might seem like the evaluations work better in that regard, but it only seems that way because it takes place on the forum, where there aren't as many impulsive people who participate. Even then, you only have to look as far back as Triny's eval in January to see that people will lash out hard against those whose votes they don't like, even in evals, no matter how well you try to explain your reasoning behind it. You can't teach someone to be more mature, you have to wait for them to reach it on their own. As leaders, mentors, and friends, we have two options before us. We can take the easy road, or the hard road. If its the easy road you want then you may choose to only support people, tell them what they want to hear, avoid confrontation and just be everyone's buddy. You won't do much to help people grow, and your fellow leaders won't respect and admire you as much as they otherwise could, but people will love you, far fewer people will say bad things about you, and you can feel nice and secure about yourself. It is a *safe* approach, avoiding risks in favor of being on everyone's good side. Or you can take the hard road. Tell people what you think they need to hear, instead of what they may want to hear. Make the decisions you feel are necessary, even if they aren't always popular. And stay true to your own belief of what a leader should be. There will be people who hate you for it, there'll be people who will talk behind your back, create conspiracy stories, hold grudges, and may even hit you with neg votes and raw messages of their own as payback. If you are going to choose this road then these are realities that you will need to accept, not everyone is interested in understanding you or your reasons. But those of your peers who recognize what you are doing will respect you more for it, you are more likely to be seen as a person of integrity, and every once and a while one of those people you critique will actually think about what you said and learn from it, even if they don't admit it right away. And then they will become a better person, perhaps even a leader themselves one day. The rest won't, and will remain spiteful to you. As the leading expert on saying things people don't like, my recommendation is this: Just be the kind of leader you think you should be, and make the decisions you feel are right. Pick which people whose opinions matter to you, and let them be the ones whose views you consider and take to heart. Don't worry about the opinions of everyone outside of that list, let them say what they want, and believe what they want. Some of them will learn, some of them will not, that is the way of things. If you are lucky then you'll find an opportunity to explain your choices in more detail, and if you are really lucky then some of the people you explain yourself to might even reconsider how they feel about your views. But I wouldn't try and make everyone understand, you will find that the harder you try and convince them all, the harder some will reject it and push back. That is the price of integrity. That is what it takes to help people grow sometimes. It's not an easy road to walk, it's a thankless task with as many disappointments as successes. But personally I think it's worth it. It's not only important for helping some people grow, but it also means staying true to yourself as well. It is necessary for a good leader, mentor, or friend to say the things that need to be said, even if the receiver may not understand or appreciate it. They may not grow if you do say it, but they won't grow if you don't. In my opinion, a leader that is loved by everyone isn't doing their job as a leader.

  46. The Commanders have taken a hard look at our rank expectations in order to institute massive reforms that not only affect community leadership as a whole, but also specifically address expounding upon the pathway to its highest leadership role by expanding the essential roles based on the demands of the community. Previously, expectations for 1* and 2* required heavy divisional leadership. While these expectations are still contained as a avenue to advancement, additional tracks were created based on the needs of OD Gaming. The principles behind these different expectations categories are now tiered to be easily followed. They fall into three categories show below: Core, Practical, and Exceptional Expectations. In addition, we have enlisted the help of the Generals to review and update the rank of Colonel and below. These expectations are to go into effect after the 2/2021 Admin Meeting and specifically will be first administered to the Generals and Commanders during the next Evaluation. Let me know if you have any questions and these changes will be updated on our Guide to Everything. Previous Rank Expectations New Expectations Core Expectations represent the fundamental responsibilities of that rank. The member is expected to fulfill all core expectations, they are the bare minimum of what must be completed to maintain the rank, and failing to do them will eventually result in a demotion. Practical Expectations are the responsibilities we generally expect to see some of in addition to the core responsibilities. Unlike the core expectations a member doesn't have to fulfill all of the standard expectations, but they should be completing some. Failing to fulfill any may not necessarily result in a demotion (that is ultimately up to their peers) but it will certainly disqualify them from future promotions. Exceptional Expectations are the gold standard of the rank, they represent going above and beyond. Each exceptional expectation fulfilled will greatly increase the probability of a future promotion occurring. Trial Member New gamers tested prior to entry into the community.
